Juicy jam

True confession:  I like to play games on my phone.  There. It's out there! I read so many peoples Facebook posts that say "I don't have time for games".  Well....I do!  There.  It's out there again! Now I don't send requests to people to send me lives etc.  I just play. I don't gamble or buy extra lives.  I just play.  And actually I'm pretty good!  At the time of this blog I'm on level 403 of Panda Pop and my new favorite is Juicy Jam.  I'm on level 143.

So is this why I'm writing this blog?  To confess?  No.  But I'm one of those players who will work for weeks on one game just to get to the next level.
I was playing Juicy Jam yesterday and I couldn't beat the level I was on.  I had been trying for about 3 weeks. Same game over and over.  I couldn't get all the "orders" completed in the right amount of turns.  I was frustrated.  I was beginning to think it was impossible.  I was super focused on conquering it!
Then out of pure frustration and with one life left, I just played the game for fun.  Didn't worry about the "orders".  Didn't worry about how many moves I had left.  Just played for fun.
And guess what?  Yep!  I conquered it with 5 moves left over.  Honest!!!
That's when Holy Spirit spoke to me and said "See, stop focusing on DOING & STRIVING over the game.  Start ENJOYing it!"  I had lost the enjoying part and was all about conquering it.  It's just a game!

So how many people, like me, get caught up in the DOING & STRIVING and forget about ENJOYing the journey called life?  You are so concerned about what the future does and doesn't hold, how you are going to get there and all the details that you have or don't have.  When we should be living in the moment, ENJOYing the journey.
Now I'm not saying not to have direction or focus for things to come. I'm saying don't forget to ENJOY the now.  We must get to a point where we learn to REST in God's promises.  Promises that He will take care of everything - in His time.  But we want to take the reigns and hurry things along.  In doing this we miss the promises and goodness of the here and now!

God is all of His wisdom knows whats best and cares about all our details....and even knows our names.  In fact, He not only loves us....He likes us!  Yay!
So take my gaming advice today and rest in God's promises.  He has your back!  Receive His peace and ENJOY right now!
